Simplex Castings Limited is a premier manufacturing organisation in India with a global business presence. Established in 1970 as a ferrous foundry partnership firm, it was converted into a Private Limited Company under the Indian Companies Act on 30th January 1980.
In 1993, the company was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, becoming a public limited company with shares held by the public and financial institutions. Rated as an SME-II Grade Company, it has its registered office in Mumbai and corporate office in Bhilai, India, and has rapidly expanded its business presence with branch offices and sales agents in India and worldwide

Simplex Castings possesses well-equipped manufacturing facilities, including a Cast Iron Foundry, Steel & Alloy Foundry, Heavy Engineering & Fabrication Plant for equipment building, and structural fabrication. Each plant is associated with modern machining facilities, including a central machine shop with numerous CNC machines. The EPC Division undertakes turnkey projects, supported by a design wing with modern computer setups and aided tools. Simplex serves as a comprehensive one-stop shop for all engineering component manufacturing needs, including castings, forging, fabrication, machining, assembly, equipment building, in-house testing, and design.
The company's plants are situated in Bhilai and Tedesara, in the state of Chhattisgarh, the central part of India. This region is among the most mineral-rich and industrialised provinces in India. The plants are well connected by road and rail to international seaports and airports, providing excellent logistics support.
With over five decades of experience in manufacturing and supplying various grades of castings in machined and as-cast conditions, heavy engineering components, spares, equipment, and fabricated structures, all compliant with international standards, Simplex has earned a leading position in the market as a reliable supplier.
Technology upgradation is an ongoing activity at Simplex. Over the years, the company has expanded and augmented its production facilities, adopting modern CAD/CAM tools for 3D modelling, simulation software for solidification, and CMM for inspection accuracy. In terms of quality, Simplex has acquired necessary accreditations, including ISO 9002, API, ASME, One Star Export House, ABS, RDSO, AAR, and TPG. Its testing facilities are equipped to conduct all physical and chemical tests in-house, approved by various relevant authorities.

The company is well-recognised and registered as a supply partner to almost all core sector industries, including steel mills, aluminium smelters and downstream industries, other metallurgical plants, railways, power plants, valve and pump industries, mining, cement, sugar, heavy earth movers, material handling, oil & gas, defence, and chemical plants. Simplex has a customer base in India and worldwide, with exports constituting about 20-25% to countries such as the USA, France, Italy, Germany, Egypt, UAE, Japan, China, South Korea, Brazil, and Australia.
Simplex has successfully completed several turnkey projects (EPC) in association with leading technology companies worldwide, in areas such as sinter plants, pellet plants, blast furnace hot blast stoves, slag granulation plants, cooling beds for mills, bar & rod mills, reheating furnaces, coke ovens, and material handling systems.
- Entered into a technical tie-up with Tyazhprom Export Russia for turnkey projects in India.
- Introduced advanced Japanese technology for Sinter Plant in India for SAIL - Bhilai Steel Plant, executing Sinter Plant-III on a turnkey basis in consortium with Mitsui, Kawasaki, and Hitachi Zosen of Japan.
- Installed, on a turnkey basis, a Mini Blast Furnace of 350 cubic metres for Southern Iron Steel Company at Salem (India) with Chinese technology.
- Designed, engineered, and supplied equipment for a hot rolling Steckel mill, executed for Salem Steel Plant as per SMS Germany’s design.
- Manufactured undercarriages (bogies) for railway locomotives.
- Produced sucker rod pumping units for the oil & gas industry, specifically for ONGC, India.
Simplex has developed several import substitution products, including:
- Emission-free (Zero Leak / Blue Sky) doors for coke oven batteries with Japanese technology.
- Slag granulation plant for SAIL – Bhilai Steel Plant.
- Coco bogies for Indian Railways.
- Ballistic grade castings for the turret of war tanks.
- S.G. iron cast pallet cars for sinter plants.
- Equipment for cold rolling mills supplied to Road Master Industries.
- Mill base and gear housing for vertical coal grinding mills.
